A big thanks to all of those who supported our re-election bid for Tax Commissioner...the phone callers, the door knockers, the parade walkers, and the contributors. Cecily and I are humbled by your help and support.
And, what a great victory we had! Being elected for the first time four years ago felt good. But, our re-election win this time around, receiving almost 70% of the vote of North Dakotans, feels much, much better!
Our party’s great success this year required us to come together along with some good old fashioned hard work.
But, as you know, North Dakota Republicans are used to hard work, and it shows. Working closely with Governor Hoeven and the Republican legislature:
• We funded priorities, while many states are going bankrupt and slashing vital programs and services;
• We have set aside a healthy reserve of over $1 billion for the future, while many states are bonding and borrowing their way further into debt; and
• We cut taxes, delivering $500 million in broad-based property and income tax relief benefitting North Dakota families, farmers and ranchers, and small business owners, while many states are raising taxes.
That’s why North Dakota is the envy of the nation! We are on the right track and we are getting the job done for North Dakota!
But, to continue moving along the right track, it will take more hard work and the same kind of strong leadership we have today. And, that’s why your support is so important!
