Welcome to our website.
Having had the opportunity to serve the people of North Dakota as tax commissioner for the past four and half years has been a great honor for me, and a privilege that I work hard to earn every day.
By working together with Governor Hoeven, Lt. Governor Jack Dalrymple, and legislative leaders we have accomplished a lot during that short time.
• We have simplified North Dakota’s tax system and expanded electronic filing, making it easier for our citizens and businesses to file and comply with the law.
• We have put in place meaningful economic development tools and programs, including tax incentives, which have made it possible for our business and industries to grow and prosper, especially in the area of energy development.
• This has led to an unprecedented expansion of our economic base in North Dakota, more jobs, higher wages, and greater wealth.
• As a result of this economic growth, we have been able to fund priorities, spending within our means, and providing for a healthy reserve of over $700 for the future.
• And, we have delivered over $500 million – a half a billion dollars – in broad based property and income tax relief to our citizens, reducing the burden on our North Dakota families, businesses, and farmers and ranchers.
But, there is always more work to do and more great opportunities for North Dakota in the future and with your support come November I look forward to making those opportunities a reality.
